Laurel Consuelo Broughton

A native Angeleno, Laurel explores her interests in narrative, material culture, craft, and style within fashion, architecture and design through collaborations and publications with and without WELCOME. She received her B.A. from New York University (NYU) in Comparative Literature and Critical Theory and her M.Arch from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI_arc).

Laurel has worked with a diverse group of architects, designers and artists including the Los Angeles firms Johnston Marklee, Greg Lynn Form, and Inaba with Jeffrey Inaba as well as the artists Ester Partegas and Devon Dikeou. In addition to directing the studio, she teaches design at the USC School of Architecture. Prior to her architectural training, Laurel was managing editor at the art and art world chronicle, zingmagazine in New York City.
